The Pantone Color Institute recently announced that marsala is its color of the year for 2015. According to Pantone, the “charismatic hue incorporates red-brown roots and a sophisticated, natural earthiness,” much like the wine. Marsala, on the other hand, has been showing up on runways and red carpets recently and seems much more appealing as a decorating color. Marsala silk drapes, velvet marsala throw pillows and a marsala chenille sofa not only sound more palatable, but actually gorgeous. And I can tell that we’re totally ready to start sporting this versatile burgundy-wine hue. Lucky for us, our favorite stores have already got a bunch of marsala-colored clothes in stock, just waiting to be snapped up by a fashion-forward crowd. You can find my favorite picks in the slideshow ahead.
