The Marques’ Almeida collection was an ode to eccentricity. Forgetting a few dresses of wispy organza, it was a strong offering that balanced the glamour of raw-edged and gold-infused brocade evening wear with the cool insouciance of denim, which was particularly fresh in jeans with gaping, leg-exposing curved seams. The crimson or lilac fur coats, and shiny foil leather jackets, were also winners.
