Olivia Wilde is the new face of H&M’s Conscious Exclusive collection, which launches in April and features pieces made with hemp, organic linen, organic silk, organic leather and recycled polyester and accouterments.
‘Sustainability has got a bad reputation, especially in fashion. I think people assume the clothes will be dull, the fabrics uncomfortable and the design uninspiring,’ Olivia said. ‘It’s like people think sustainability is a penance. This couldn’t be further from the truth, and the H&M Conscious Exclusive collection shows that sustainability is no compromise on style.’
The actress revealed she decided to get behind the campaign not just for its ethics, but because of its looks as well.
H&M has really elevated their look from the standard fast fashion designer knockoffs and basics items. They have their own studio design team led by Ann-Sofie Johansson and even showed their Fall collection at Paris Fashion Week. H&M Conscious, the Swedish retailer’s eco-friendly line, is also swiftly growing in popularity with big names like Natalie Portman and Miranda Kerr wearing their luxe pieces on the red carpet. For their Spring ad campaign, they tapped Olivia Wilde to be the face of their latest range. Featuring tuxedo styles, a kimono frock, and this bird print maxi dress that the Lazarus Effect star wears, the collection is sure to be a hit once it hits stores in mid April.
