Giorgio Armani celebrated 40 years in fashion last night with a blowout party, couture show, and opening of his very own museum in Milan. The evening began with a tour of the new Armani/Silos, a museum and exhibition space encompassing 4,500 square meters and four floors dedicated to Armani’s career. (The debut exhibition, which opens to the public this month, showcases 800 outfits and 200 accessories.) Then followed a big Armani Privé couture fashion show, attended by the likes of Cate Blanchett, Tom Cruise, Tina Turner, Leonardo DiCaprio, and dozens more, all dressed in their Armani finest (including some very chic white suits). The evening ended, of course, with a giant party.
