Gwyneth Paltrow and exercise guru Tracy Anderson cover Hamptons magazine’s Memorial Day issue, sporting ladylike styles in tea-length dresses and skirts. Gwyneth admits that when she first started working with Tracy to get in shape for 2008’s Iron Man, she was close to tears.
The two striking blondes discuss a new fitness studio in East Hampton and their just-launched, locally sourced culinary line, 3 Green Hearts.
“When I started, I was doing it six days a week,” she explains. “I remember there was a certain point when I felt like I was going to cry. I just physically and mentally couldn’t do it anymore. It was too hard for me.”
Tracy then gave her a piece of advice that’s stuck with her to this day.
“You said to me, ‘Don’t even think of it like that. It’s not an option. It’s like brushing your teeth. You get up and do it,'” she shares. “I had such a powerful shift that day. You showed me how to take the option out of it and make it something you do for self care as a woman who wants to feel good in her body and feel healthy and feel strong.”
