Showing 11 couture looks alongside his spring men’s wear, Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci called them “bad girls” — the girlfriends of the swarthy fellows dressed in rugged denim and penitentiary overalls, for prison and workwear were the designer’s twin themes. The couture dresses were part frothy romance, part salty showgirl. Made of lace in pretty colors like yellow and sky blue, they were sheer enough to show off the little nothings worn underneath, occasionally sparkling with embedded crystals or big star-shaped sequins.
