Tory Burch is launching Tory Sport. The designer’s newest brand will feature apparel to accomodate growing trends in yoga, running, and some tennis and golf. It has its own design team and identity separate from Burch’s main line, but both businesses benefit the Tory Burch Foundation, which supports female entrepreneurs.
“We focused on balance and symmetry—sporty and stylish, feminine and strong, classic and modern,” says Burch of Tory Sport’s fall collection, an ode to the retro stylings of Wes Anderson’s 2001 film, The Royal Tenenbaums. Navy and red tracksuits with graphic stripes evoke a similar ’70s hipster attitude, but the line also includes color-blocked wetsuits and rash guards with floral-print panels, classic white tennis dresses and neoprene gym bags. Also on offer are skirts, pants, tops and jackets that won’t look out of place on the street, before and after workouts.
