Zac Posen played with contrasting themes of utility and romanticism in his Zac Zac Posen collection, the tension between the two illustrated by an interplay of soft pink and raspberry hues with jet black and army green. Silk dresses in bold plaids — some styled with oversize safari jackets — gave the lineup a cool tomboy vibe, yet even those tougher looks were treated with feminine details, such as eyelet embroidery and delicate bow ties. Overall, languid silhouettes prevailed, rendered in custom-printed silks, lightweight suede and organza, with plenty of pleats, ruffles, lace embroidery and floral appliqués.
