You have probably noticed that bras-over-tops trend showed up and definitely stood out on the Spring/Summer 2016 runways. The trend seems to include bralettes layered over T-shirts or a classic (button-down) shirts, slip dresses and blouses, or sometimes just worn on their own. It can be very easy, or not. Designers like Dries Van Noten, J.W. Anderson, Alexander Wang and Alberta Ferreti have focused on undergarments as daywear. Dries Van Noten created a hot pink bustier to wear over transparent tops. At J.W. Anderson the boldly wired tiny cupped bras opened the line-up. Wang favors the bra top – we have seen bra tops both at Balenciaga and at Alexander Wang’s own collection. Even the eternally romantic Alberta Ferretti also did it this season. The avant-garde runway inspirations go straight to the streets, oh and the street style mavens have already pulled this one off.
