After several months of rumors and waiting, Raf Simons has been appointed as Calvin Klein’s new creative director and will be gracing the offices of the American company starting this Tuesday, August 2.
The Belgian designer will start work in his new offices in New York and will first focus on developing the CK Jeans line, as well as a new brand image and a reorganization of the brand’s fashion shows.
Calvin Klein is undergoing a big transformation and will receive a troop of new designers to replace the old team, which was abruptly dismissed just a few days before the arrival of Raf Simons.
Simons left Dior last fall after three years of collaboration, “It is after careful and long consideration that I have decided to leave my position as creative director of Christian Dior’s women’s collection. It is a decision based entirely and equally on my desire to focus on other interests in my life, including my own brand, and the passions that drive me outside my work” Simons said at that time.
