Vetements presented its Spring 2017 men’s and women’s collections during the couture week in July, in Paris. Designer Demna Gvasalia showcased the brand’s new line entirely made up of 18 collaborations, which includes Carhartt WIP, Levi’s, Canada Goose, Eastpak, Reebok, Alpha Industries, COMME des GARÇONS, Champion, Schott, Manolo Blahnik, Brioni, Lucchese, Mackintosh, Church’s, Dr. Martens, Kawasaki and Juicy Couture.
“Vetements started with an idea of a wardrobe, with one garment representing each product category. As a logical conclusion we decided to take the same approach and to exaggerate it into a full collection. We played a game saying a product category and calling out the brand we most associated it with.”
The show opened with model Maud Escudie wearing a deconstructed gray suit, which appears to be a hot trend this season, with a long belt trailing from her right hip. Many of the button down shirts in the show were left unbuttoned around the ribcage to create little windows to the models’s skin. The collection was ranging from supersize puffers to tiny jeans jackets.See the full lineup below.
