Starting from today we are going to dedicate the last post of every Friday to the model/ influencer/ blogger/ designer/ entrepreneur of the week and tell their story. And we are starting off with the very successful, by all means successful, American supermodel Karlie Kloss.
Karlie Kloss was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her family has Danish, German and Polish roots. She moved to St.Louis with her family, in 1994. Kloss has called her classical ballet training “a beautiful thing” that taught her how to move in the modeling world and was a great training ground for her runway walk. Kloss was “discovered at a local benefit runway show”. Best known for her career as a supermodel, Karlie has been on the cover of Vogue Magazine for more than 30 times and Vogue Paris even named her one of the top 30 models of the 2000s.
She has been in advertisements for Rebecca Taylor, Jean Paul Gaultier, Donna Karan, Nina Ricci, Chloé, Lacoste, Sportmax, Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, Elie Saab, Dolce & Gabbana, Gap, Bally Shoe, Bergdorf Goodman, Pringle of Scotland, Dior, Hermes, Oscar de la Renta, Sonia Rykiel, Aquascutum, Topshop, Eryn Brinie, Uniqlo, Omnia Jade, Lord & Taylor, Barneys New York, American Eagle, Victoria’s Secret PINK, and Adidas. She has walked for numerous designers in New York, London, Milan, and Paris, including Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Givenchy, Gucci, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, Versace, and Elie Saab.
Kloss is now signed with IMG Models. Karlie’s profile doesn’t just stop at being a supermodel. Passionate and fearless, Karlie is also a full-fledged entrepreneur, coder, student, baker, philanthropist and vlogger. In 2015, Kloss started her own YouTube channel, called Klossy, which features weekly vlogs and Q&A videos. She supports hungry children with the sales of her cookie brand Karlie’s Kookies, and inspires young women to learn coding through her scholarship program Kode with Klossy. In 2016 Karlie made it into the list of Time 100 Most Influential People.
Karlie Kloss is a role model for many women of her generation, she also uses her fame and influence to support and empower other women.
