Clare Waight Keller unveiled her Fall Winter 2018/19 Givenchy show in Paris’s Palais de Justice. The set was in dark velvet, midnight blue, purple, dark grey and black. It was inspired by the glamorous Berlin nightlife of the 1980s. This season sees “the air thick with sleaze and danger,” said the house.
Oversized fur coats with statement prints opened the collection paired with cuffed boots in soft leather. Eighties influences dominated the collection. The color palette included black and white, peacock blue, and carmine red. The sharp-edged style coats were loosely tied around the waist with big soft floppy leather belts. The leather, zebra and leopard prints were followed with some sequins, and fringing that flowed as the models moved down the catwalk. There was also the return of the oversized bow.
