5 Biggest Trends For Spring Summer 2018

Lilac is the color of Spring 2018, so let’s say goodbye to the millennial pink. Designers like Victoria Beckham, Tibi, Michael Kors, to name a few, have used this purple hue almost everywhere from knits, suiting to evening gowns. If you want to try out this trend, try to wear head-to-toe lilac for a cool take.

This trend seems to have become seasonless. Designers certainly fell for checks and plaids for Spring Summer 2018. As seen at Balenciaga, Burberry, Victoria Beckham, Sonia Rykiel and Fendi.

Sheer plastics were predominant on Spring Summer 2018 runways, showing up on everything from head-to-toe clothing to accessories. Last season Raf Simons covered Calvin Klein in plastic, and this season Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld went whole-hog with the material, literally from head-to-toe. Followed by Burberry’s plastic bags, sleek trench coat at Kenzo and Fendi’s plastic dresses.

For Spring 2018, a number of designers looked back at the 80s and 90s, marking the comeback of the fanny pack or the belt bag. Designers like Gucci, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Kate Spade, to name a few, have brought renaissance to the shape making the trend cooler than ever.

Designers from Jonathan Anderson to Natacha Ramsay-Levi turned their hand to souping up this closet essential for SS18, turning the saddle bag into a must-have. Chloé updated the in-demand Drew bag with chain embellishments, while at Loewe, the desirability comes courtesy of the beautifully soft caramel-colored leathers. But the most important update has nothing to do with design and everything to do with the way you carry it – held in one hand, with the strap pulled at least halfway through your palm, it suddenly looks less practical and more magical. Strength In Femininity

The androgynous or unisex clothing is growing rapidly on social media. The biggest runway shows have been embracing the trend for the last seasons. Labels like Calvin Klein, Jil Sander, Alexander McQueen, to name a few, play on both femininity and androgyny, mixing feminine with menswear-inspired pieces.

My today’s runway-inspired look features a feminine lace dress from Few Moda (similar here) paired with an oversized boyfriend blazer from Romeo and Juliet Couture. Blazers are my every day staple, it is a nice way to structure your look by adding some androgyny to your femininity. I am also wearing these 90s super retro sunglasses featuring a black frame in a skinny style from Pretty Little Thing. As for the shoes I chose the two-strap high heel sandals from Steve Madden styled with contrasting light blue sheer ankle socks.
